"...does what most songwriters wish ALL drummers would do: he actually listens to the music and tries to compliment it, not work against it."
- James Leshkavich, The Spirit of Violence

"I’ve been playing drums since birth."

No, seriously. The son of a drummer, Eric has been holding sticks since day one.

Eric has studied rock, jazz, afro-cuban and African drumming (under the late Yacub Addy, world renowned Ghanain drummer who worked with Wynton Marsalis).

Eric can be heard on albums that range from folk to hardcore punk and has worked with notable musicians including Maria Brink (In This Moment), Mike Scoville (One King Down), and Christina Beauchemin (independent singer songwriter). Eric was a founding member of End of a Year/Self Defense Family, a band that has been a darling of The Onion’s A.V. Club and Pitchfork for several years. He has worked with notable producers and engineers such as Don Fury (Don Fury Studios, Troy NY), Don Zientara (Inner Ear Studio, Arlington,  VA) and Tim Lynch (The Recording Company, Esperence NY) and played on recordings released world-wide by labels such as Revelation, Death Wish, and Iron Pier.

"I've played with Busta on a number of occassions, trusting him to fill in for my own band for a pretty important gig. Not only is he simply one of the most proficient drummers I've personally ever met, but he does what most songwriters wish ALL drummers would do: he actually listens to the music and tries to compliment it, not work against it."
- James Leshkavich, The Spirit of Violence

"Some people listened to our records because they loved his drumming. And I loved playing with him." - Patrick Kindlon, End of a Year, Self Defense Family

"...[his] beats are driving like a train going cross country being fed coal billowing black smoke..." - Amazon Review

Released worldwide by Deathwish, Inc., one of the most respected and innovative labels in hardcore punk. A simple, straight ahead approach provided a solid rhythmic foundation. The drum parts are clean and the feel is tight and punchy.

Most of these songs were done in one or two takes. The goal wasn't perfection. The band wanted to document a moment.

Seminal hardcore punk label Revelation Records, known for the bands that defined the NYHC sound of the 80's released this album. Legendary D.C. punk producer Don Zientara was behind the mixing board for this worldwide release. Don is known for working with Bad Brains, Fugazi and for shaping the D.C. punk sound and was a pleasure to work with.

This was an energetic effort. The beat is played just a bit on top for most of these songs. Again, most were done on the first or second take. The last song features a improvised ending that has a real "live without a net" feel.

Engineer, producer, and songwriter Vellocinate brings dark 80s and 90s influences to works in a variety of genres. A melodic mixture of trip-hop and classic goth is most prevalent, with shoegaze, EBM and industrial leanings also on display.

Vellocinate is an interesting artist to work with. He chooses the musicians he works with because he trusts in what they bring to the table creatively. It’s a real treat to be given that kind of freedom. He also has an inventive approach to capturing sounds.
